On July 21, 2021, Thunes announced the acquisition of Limonetik for an undisclosed consideration.
Limonetik, based in France, is a global full-service payment platform providing alternative payment acceptance, suitable for international merchants and marketplaces.
Thunes, based in Singapore, is a cross border payment leader. With a single, simple connection, Thunesoffers a fast and transparent and affordable payments across the world and will now also enable more flexible ways to collect funds.
The acquisition of Limonetikwill accelerate rollout of global payment collections and as one offer a single end-to-end payment solution that connects every corner of the world and makes the global economy accessible to all.
Overview of Limonetik
Limonetik was founded in 2008 by Christophe Bourbier (CEO), Olivier Berthelier (CTO) and Hassan Issa (COO.
Initially starting as a prepaid card processor, the company is now a full-service payment platform addressing the consumer and merchant driven complexities in the new world of payments.
Limonetik has developed an online payment platform for multichannel retailers, marketplaces, payment issuers, acquirers and payment services providers.
The company has built a robust and highly modular platform including pay-in gateway, acquirer and payment institution connectivity, reconciliation orchestration and pay-out capabilities backed by an intelligent payment architecture.
Limonetik, today, offers access to 285 payment methods in 70 countries through a single API connection and serves over 14,000 merchants, marketplaces and fintech players, including Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Veepee, CMA -CGM, Worldline -Ingenico, ACI, Amadeus and Natixis.
